Parents are the most influential agents of catechesis for their children. They have a unique responsibility for the education of their children; they are their first educators, or catechists. (National Directory of Catechesis 234)
Parents are challenged in so many ways with this responsibility of raising their children in the faith. The influences of a secular culture and the busy schedules of families today make the value of a strong and healthy household of faith even more important.
Below are outlines of the diocesan religion curriculum written especially for parents. These outlines are designed to provide a general overview of the content for insturction within each age grouping along with prayers and at-home activities that can reinforce what is learned at the parish or school program.
