The Curriculum Guidelines for Elementary Catechesis of the Diocese of Buffalo are to be used in every parish and Catholic School engaged in the religious education of children.Teachers are encouraged to explore innovative ways to engage children in learning and practicing their faith beyond what is contained in a textbook. Textbooks are only a resource for the plan outlined by the diocesan curriculum.
The Department of Lifelong Faith Formation serves as a resource to parishes and schools to assist in the implementation of the diocesan curriculum.
